Christa Lohr, RN, MSN, CCRN, NEA-BC | Caldwell Butler

Christa M. Lohr is a Managing Principal and an experienced Nurse Executive at Caldwell Butler. She is a transformational leader with 26 years of initiating and delivering sustained results and effective change across the continuum of care. Christa’s background includes strategizing and leading cross-functional teams to bring about fundamental change and improvement in strategy, process, and profitability.

She has experience working with major academic medical centers, as well as community and inpatient rehabilitation hospitals, in both for-profit and not-for-profit organizations. She has diverse experience in consulting, leading a variety of engagements with a focus on the level of care (LOC) and length of stay (LOS) reduction. Created, designed, and executed LOS initiatives to reduce annual patient days consistent with CMS guidelines and industry best practices. Christa developed and implemented a workforce management program at a multi-hospital system, created customized staffing models, designed and implemented process improvement utilizing six sigma and lean principles, enhancement of resource utilization, and enrichment of overall operational performance in acute hospital systems and post-acute care.

Christa has served in multiple leadership positions throughout her career in healthcare. Most recently, she was a Regional Chief Nursing Officer for Select Medical, responsible for oversight of 12 Inpatient Rehabilitation hospitals. Christa was also a divisional director of Clinical Development at Select Medical developing programming for onboarding and mentoring new nursing leaders. Christa was a Project Manager and Clinical Lead at Premier Healthcare, leading teams through process improvement initiatives. Christa’s professional experience spans across the continuum of care in Acute Care, Inpatient Rehabilitation, Hospice & Palliative Care, Disease Management including FQHCs, Case Management, and Long-term Care.

Christa is currently pursuing her Doctorate in Nursing Practice from Aspen University. She received a Master of Science in Nursing and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Western Governors University. She earned a diploma in Nursing from Conemaugh Valley Memorial Hospital Nursing School located in Johnstown, Pennsylvania. Christa is trained in performance improvement, holding a certification in Healthcare Lean Six Sigma Black Belt. Additionally, Christa is board certified as a Nurse Executive Advanced and earned certifications as a Certified Rehabilitation Registered Nurse, Certified Director of Nursing Administration in Long Term Care, and Accredited Case Manager.
